    I've posted results here. I don't have enough memory to do more than 50,000, but you can see that *that* takes about .2 seconds.

    NT is at least as efficient in thread creation and destruction. See the portal page for proof.

    Here's a link that talks about this thread creation further {{google cache, in case its /.ed}}. It seems that 100,000 simultaneous threads is not going to happen on your desktop linux box anytime soon, but this guy says 50,000 started *and running* in less than a second is not too far away.

    You are correct, there is an internal document showing the hole [google cache] that is dated some two months ago!
