    You can tether with a rooted G1 on T-Mobile.

    Just make sure the kernel image you use has netfilter enabled.

    Then, you'll also need a tethering application.

    There are now two full-featured, easy-to-use, free alternatives to Tetherbot.

    Why would you promote PdaNet when there are now two full-featured, easy-to-use, *free* alternatives that don't require a USB connection?!

    If you have an Android DevPhone or a "rooted" T-Mobile G1 you can use the free application aNetShare to tether via WiFi.

    (Other wifi tethering applications are available, I have nothing to do with the software, just a happy user)
