For people interested in daily news about Africa (local media rarely covers it unless something bad or depressing has happened), I recommend the http://allafrica.com/ site. Considering how dangerous it is to run independent media in places such as Zimbabwe, this is an example how it is not all empty hype from Wired style techno-utopians. Technology might actually give concrete benefits to developing nations.
