Paypal - watch out
we now can directly accept Credit Cards in addition to paypal.
Watch out for paypal, here is my experience. That's not the end of it either. One class action suit is already in progress against Palpal, for exactly the things they've done to me, and another is apparently pending.
At least, include a warning not to give Paypal any more of your money than you are willing to kiss goodbye for an indefinite period, for no good reason.
There are alternatives, notably Billpoint which at least hasn't done anything evil to me yet. -
Re:Paypal is evil, do not use
Sure, paypal stinks sometimes, but there are no clear-cut superior alternatives.
There is Billpoint. -
billpoint new promotion
One thing that is not going to help Paypal is Billpoint's full purchase protection promotion which is prominently displayed on every auction with billpoint. This will convince Joe Sixpack that paypal is some type of unprotected rogue service.

Seller friendly
I have sold a couple of things, and requested payment via Paypal. No problems, but then paypalwarning.com did say that Paypal was seller friendly. Has anyone used the recommended billpoint.com with success?

Duh ... use escrow services.Escrow services like Tradenable (formerly i-escrow) and even Billpoint let you trust the largish corporation (which has much more incentive not to cut and run) instead of the seller. When buying anything over $100, I always use escrow. Sure it costs a couple of bucks more, and there's a tiny amount of added hassle (you have to go back to the web site to verify that the stuff arrived on time), but the security is great and the service really isn't very expensive.
On several occasions, shady-sounding individuals have backed out of auction deals with me, after I suggested using Tradenable. To me, that's the surest sign of a huckster and a good indication that escrow works.
