New nForce Boards Previewed
s3k writes "Firingsquad.com takes a look at nVidia's new nForce4 chip. It now includes a hardware-based firewall for improved CPU utilization, support for Serial ATA 3 Gigabytes/second hard drives, Gigabit Ethernet, and most importantly, 20-lane PCI Express. nVidia Unified Drivers Including Linux/FreeBSD
Screaming Lunatic writes "nVidia has decided to include Linux and FreeBSD in their Unified Driver Architecture and offer more tech support. Sounds like great news for Linux developers and users if Linux drivers are released at the same time as Windows drivers. (The NV30 emulation driver for Linux was made available about 3 months later than for Windows) The big push is probably from big studios that use Linux tools such as Film Gimp. More info here ." PumpkinPC v1.0 Makes Its Hallowe'en Debut
vivIsel writes "I just recently created the PumpkinPC v1.0 for the Hack-O-Lantern contest at Bjorn3D. I thought the Slashdot community would get a kick out of this--it being Halloween, and all. I just hope it doesn't rot too soon." Hopefully, the pumpkin has survived the trick-or-treaters.
