Accurate
I find it funny that companies that are paid big money to forecast the future are so often wrong.
However, there are virtual stock markets where people predict the future in regards to news, sports, movies, etc. More often than not, these are correct.

Blogs are growing - and?
According to BlogShares, the number of blogs has grown from 1 million to 2.3 million over the past 6 months. It seems like information overload. It also seems like the number of blogs isn't really relevant - most of the attention ends up being focused on a very few blogs run by people already in the media (like Instapundit).

Internet Chess (ICC) is extremely addicting although this account is a smidge jive:

Another addicting game that saps my time when I'm waiting for my next internet chess opponent to arrive is BlogShares. A market simulation game where you can aspire to "own" Slashdot and other blogs on the internet.
I've just created another legion of internet addicts, so sorry. -

My site 23 Pools offers all these and more built on completely open source tools: Linux, AOLserver, PostgreSQL, Postfix.
For an example blog check out mine and a cool usage of SVG for viewing the connections between users. You will need a SVG browser plugin if you arent running latest Mozilla with the SVG built in.
