Re:Its a matter of where you have a locationThe USA (And maybe Canada and Australia) are about the only countries in the world where there has not at some point been some state policy of persicuting, killing or expelling the Jews.
Is that why USA, Canada and Australia have enjoyed the most energetic Jewish lobbying to liberalize their immigration laws, in spite of the desires of the body politic of their host society?

Re:Goddard was a racistGoddard was quite the Anti-Semitist and (later became a) Nazi apologist, frequently being quoted as saying that American science was being held back by a massive Jewish conspiracy and that prominent Jewish scientists of the time stole the works of others and had no place in mathematics or science.
Greenwald, A. G., & Schuh, E. S. (1994) "An ethnic bias in scientific citations" European Journal of Social Psychology 24623-639 demonstrates a pattern of ethnic discrimination in scientific citations whereby Jewish authors were 40 percent more likely to cite Jewish authors than were non-Jewish authors. Jewish first authors of scientific papers were also approximately three times more likely to have Jewish coauthors than were non-Jewish first authors. Although the methods used in the study did not allow determination of the direction of discrimination, the findings reported throughout this volume strongly suggest that a large proportion of the discrimination originates with Jewish scientists.

Re:Race or religion?
Just because something is a religion doesn't mean it has no genetic correlations. And hypocrisy is a very human trait that is selected for genetically so long as people can use tricks to avoid being called on it -- like aggressively calling anyone who would do so an "antisemite" or a "nazi" and then defining "antidefamation" to consist of such aggressive slander/libel.

Both are misguided--What about the Constitution?p>Both candidates stress the importance of making sure artists receive payment for the music they write and perform. While this idea is currently popular, it is counter to the Constitutional conception of the purpose of intellectual property laws.
"The Congress shall have the power...TO PROMOTE THE USEFUL ARTS, by securing for limited Times to Authors and inventors the exclusive right to their respective writings and discoveries." Art 1, Sec. 8
Note that the purpose of the intellectual property laws is the promotion of the useful arts--not the promotion of income for the creators of those useful arts. The focus is on the benefit the useful arts will bestow on the public, NOT the benefit that should be bestowed upon the artist.
I think most true artists (as opposed to "created" artists, i.e. boy-bands) would agree that their motivation in creating music is not money. Motivation flows naturally from the desire/need to express and create.
I am not advocating that artists should not be compensated for their work, but that there needs to be a shift in considering music as a commodity to a service and a subsequent modification in how artists are paid for their expressive creations. We have lost sight of the purpose of the copyright laws, over the past several years particularly, and new technology such as PtoP file sharing is providing an opportunity to reassess the benefits that laws are intended to promote. Are laws to promote the greatest benefit to the individual, or promote the greatest benefit to everyone?
