Re:Bluetooth 2.0 headphones
I've used a set of HP Bluetooth headphones for several months now, with a Dell Axim PDA. The sound quality isn't great but it's very listenable and vastly better than the built in speaker. The excellent Core Pocket Media Player (formerly Betaplayer) supports all kinds of video and audio (including Ogg) and also supports the audio controls on the headphones. You need an updated Bluetooth stack with a high quality audio profile, it's freely available for Dell's PDAs and probably others. Of course, iPaqs work out of the box.

Re:Who is gonna use these Tablet thingies anyway?
(...) who will use Tablet PCs? (...) It's not efficient for me to write on a Tablet PC when I can just type! I think the same will be said of future generations...
IMHO a tablet PC would be more for browsing content and interacting "mouse style" (games, surfing the web, accessing databases, reading ebooks, watching videos, etc). For entering significant amounts of text I cannot see a screen being as good as a simple keyboard.
IMHO to differentiate from laptops tablet PCs will eventually need to get rid of the keyboard. They need to get leaner than laptops. I would hope the concept evolves to the tablet being only the screen, processor, battery, WiFi, HD and USB/Flashcard ports, and that the keyboard, mouse, power supply, etc. will be available at work areas, waiting to be plugged in, like ethernet cables were before wifi. They are inexpensive and standard enough for that. I am not sure if there will be enough consumer interest for this concept. I know that Sony is experimenting with something along these lines in the Vaio U.
As for cursive writing, I won't weep its death more than the death of the Morse Code, though I am pretty sure it will live long as an Art, rather than as a tool. -
Re:Er... WTF?
Did they have the Sandisk Flash Player? Dave's Ipaq has a good review and I'm happy with mine.
-
Amen! That's Why
I bought a Sandisk MP3 player so that I can watch TV (if there's something interestingon) while I workout at the gym. Dave's Ipaq had a good breakdown...I believe ecost has the 1 gb version for $120!
It's a quality player, it has a display, works just like a flash drive (although you use a cable to attach it to your comp's usb 2.0 port), and it also has a microphone. It's not as easy to use as an ipod, and it's shuffle feature seems to prefer the first file (it numbers the files) for some reason. But all in all, it's a better buy than the shuffle if you're in my situtation! -
WHY DO YOU NEED A SHUFFLE?
You all should checkout this review and think twice before you buy the shuffle http://davesipaq.com/articles/iPOD_Shuffle_Sandis

GUI design mistakes
looking at the screenshots of the upcoming Windows Mobile 2005 I am just surprised about some of the GUI design choices. A background that blends with the text and makes things unreadable. Top right button is interchangably "OK" or "X". Nobody in the design team notice these things? Not trained to notice them?
