Re:Text of the email Monster sent out
I used this opportunity to cancel my Monster account. It wasn't doing anything for me anyway, but I figured that if enough people did it, they might take it seriously. You can read my account closure experience here. To say they shrugged this off as a small breach is an understatement. They didn't do anything real until the problem had escalated out of hand. If you feel as I do that Monster didn't act appropriately, I encourage you to also cancel your account. Maybe then they'll realize what their mistake was in handling this situation.

Re:What exactly are you looking for?
Well, I wrote a webcam Perl script called "Poor Man's Cam" (http://decafbad.net/pmcam), but unfortunately it requires that you have a program to grab the images already. Once that's taken care of, the rest is pretty straightforward.
Hope this helps! -
Why attack Creative Commons?
Creative Commons allows me the freedom to put my work out there in a distributable format without people nickel-and-diming me for permission to use it. (Not that they're banging down my door to begin with
:) ) I've released music under the Creative Commons license. (Click here if you're interested). If people want to use it, they're welcome to it without having to ask me to use it. I'm OK with this. If I wasn't OK with this, I'd license it under different circumstances, or I'd release myself from copyright responsibility by releasing my stuff under the Public Domain. I'm not interested in relinquishing my stuff to that level quite yet, but the Creative Commons gives me the freedom to make this work the way I'm most comfortable. If John Dvorak doesn't get it, then John might want to use something different. John, stop piddling in our pool because you don't get it.
