    Digital shows its true nature, and why it was bought by Compaq. Follow this link and you'll discover that Titanic was rendered using Windows NT. Rather strange given Linux-Journal's article written by Digital Domain themselves. Seems to me that Digital needs many politely worded corrections. Notice that Digital's article is targeted at newbies and is part of their (Microsoft Based) Web Port

    Digital, signaling their entry into a broader relationship with Microsoft will be putting both of their server arichectectures in the NT realm, a definite tilt for the NT side in the looming Unix v NT wars.

    Diederik Meijer wrote in to let me know about this zdnet article where you can read about Digital's plan to make a new Unix to run specifically on Intel's new Merced architecture. It will incorporate new code, as well as parts of Digital Unix. The new 64bit unix will be available somewhere around 1999 if Intel manages to keep Merced on schedule.
