PGP Key Signing Event Of The Year
Meyer Wolfsheim writes "The registration page for CodeCon includes a field for attendees PGP keys. Apparently, the organizers are planning a massive group keysigning using the Zimmermann-Sassaman method. This could be a great way to increase your Web of Trust ranking." Freedb.org Seeks Volunteers
dtype writes "freedb.org is asking for your help. With the ever increasing popularity of freedb, the all-volunteer service has required more and more time. Joerg Hevers has been absorbing the brunt of the load for some time now, and we should all thank him for that. We're now looking for volunteers who would like to spend time on this great service, so that we can continue to serve the community at expected levels." -
Shake 2.5 for Mac OS X Half Off
dtype writes "Now we can begin to see where some of Apple's latest purchases are heading. Shake 2.5 for Mac OS X was announced today. It is notable that the Mac OS X version costs half as much as versions for other operating systems, and that current customers have the option of doubling their current number of licenses at no cost by migrating to Mac OS X." Mac OS X 10.2 will be required, so add $120 to the cost of each license, too. It's still a bargain at just over $5,000, though. -

This report covers about 1.5 million keys, from a 1.7GB public binary keyring, focusing on keys that are nearest the center of the web of trust. Using a GnuPG key? This will tell you where you stand in the overall rankings, as well as signatures to look for. Not using one? Maybe you should be." This would be worth reading for the explanation of the analysis alone. -
