A good story about IBM's recycling facility
From ecompany:
Yes, IBM. Big Blue is on track to refurbish or recycle 500,000 used computers this year, or about 10,000 machines a week. -
Overpriced stocks contra overrated posts ...
What?? you got moderated to 5??
Hmm, that was a pretty fast post, I doubt you got the time to read all the stories. In fact I wonder if you looked at it at all. You certainly didn't spend much time enjoying all the jokes.
But apparently your moderators didn't either. It _looks_ like a reflected post and apparently that's all that matters.
Actually, I can see a parallell from your post to extremely overpriced stocks that collapse when people look to see what's behind it. Like, when moderators and metamods get the time to actually read the page.

CEO Candice Carpenter tells Fast Company in February 1998, "There isn't an Internet company in the world that's going to fail because of mistakes -- Internet companies make thousands of mistakes every week." -

Re:Stunt.. I think not
The $3 mil bid was from a guy in Chicago whose previous 5 eBay purchases were auto parts for $16.50 and under. Most likely a joke, like all the other multi-million-dollar bids. Read the story here. I wrote it. He told me he was feeling sentimental about the site. XXX

The Finns also use cell phones in interesting ways
Here is a Time magazine article from a year ago about how most of the world (except the U.S.) use cell phones for buying a soda from vending machines, running a car wash, zapping a digital picture to a friend and video conferencing. From that article as well as others such as this one it looks like the U.S. is lagging behind in technology that is commonplace in almost every other industrialized nation.
