I've done it before.
I had a botnet using my irc server as their jumping off point. I wasn't too happy with it cause I saw an attack happen. So I went through and removed them all. I wrote up the story here if anyone wants to know how to take down a subseven network.

ahem...Except when they are exploited, they might not be noticed for awhile. I've noticed one site getting hit for awhile now.
As we speak, someone is changing the news options on the RIAA website. However, they don't seem to be stopping them from doing it. I did grab a shot of a particularly amusing one though.
Oh, and just so everyone knows.

In case anyone still wants to buy it...Using Google's cache, I was able to get the bit of code they are using to get orders for the US.
Feel free to use it if you want. (Just US version)

Port 80 blocking on AT&T (aka Mediaone segment)My server was blocked at 9AM on August 5th. I use it mostly for my resume. I have since relocated my server to port 8080 and it works fine again. I also spoke with a couple different people concerning their blocking port 80, and they totally deny it.
Wow, that's kind of weird considering the traffic ended at EXACTLY 9AM for old pages I used to host on that server. And wow, someone couldn't get to my resume that day, and emailed me about the problem they had. Very odd. I don't have a problem if they are going to block it for whatever reason, but at least admit it in the Agreement. I just want it for personal use...

IRC admin ordeal with a botnet. As posted before, I had something similar happen to me. Midway through the attack, I contacted CERT. they were tracking a particularly large botnet on Undernet at the time, and my handling of the small botnet might have been some help.
The email I wrote to CERT is located here. It details some of the stuff that happened as I got rid of the botnet. I deleted around 500 bots when all was said and done.

Makes my machine look fat!I just have to say that my cobalt box is very upset with the 'picture' section. Her picture is very complementory as is, but at 200x200, it looks like she's fat!
The picture ruins her true description. `8r(
I'm very blue, i'm very thin, i'm very cute, and I'm lit up like a xmas tree! I have lots of sensative buttons on my front, with an LCD panel to see my 'status'. I'm looking for another rack mounted CPU so that we can 'stack'. I'm also fully mirrored, so redundancy is a plus!
With her luck, she'll get paired up with a gimpy looking desktop. `8r( but she so wants to find a slick looking machine of equal speeds...

Professional MinesweeperLike many people, I play minesweeper obsessively. But thanks to Pat for an amazing x-mas present one year, I found something more challenging than the same board over and over again. If you like Minesweeper, and are on a Windows machine, check out Professional Minesweeper. They have 18 different boards, with support for English, Finnish and Croatian languages.
It's Very challenging. I do it as a hobby, and currently have some amazing scores for it. Currently, I have a low of 107 for the regular level, with an 82 on my favorite level, crossed squares. It took me approx 4 months of solid play to get the 149 on Diamond, it's REALLY hard.
You can find the author, Bojan Urosevic's original web site. It's shareware, but I highly recommend you purchase it because it's such a great game.
