Re:reincarnation?I blogged about this yesterday:
We need to set up a (de-)centralized place for spammers to check the "do not intrude" list without blowing their cover or exposing e-mail addresses, and a totally anonymous decentralized categorization effort without causing any harm to innocent bystanders (such as Tucows or Typepad).

And as per normal, they forgot about security
Ajax is wonderful, but it's not necessarily secure out of the box. I wrote about this back in February:
Ajax security presentation for OWASP

Just because Ajax is being used should you abandon years of security knowledge. -
Re:Avoid PHP for Web-accessible CMS installations.
Sorry to see that you've been rated as a troll (16:11 GMT, 25th Jan 2006) You make a very reasonable point. Those who think they smell bullshit could do worse than read about mysql_real_escape_string() versus Prepared Statements, The addslashes() Versus mysql_real_escape_string() Debate and PHP Insecurity: Failure of Leadership. That said, I like using PHP. That said, I dread to think about the security state of my code...
The last article listed above contains this quote:
"For some time, I've been worried about the direction of PHP. As many of you know, I helped write XMB Forum and now help write UltimaBB. XMB in particular is an old code base, and UltimaBB, a descendant from XMB. I've done a lot to protect that code base from attack, and luckily, we've been missed despite some doozy and silly security issues. After writing PHP forum software for three years now, I've come to the conclusion that it is basically impossible for normal programmers to write secure PHP code. It takes far too much effort." -
Pictures of a geek houseCheck out the machine room. Only three Intel's in this picture. The rest are alphas. The little libretto with its lid closed sitting near a keyboard on the desk is the WaveLAN gateway. The cable modem is sitting on the far PC. Guests can use the long cat5 leads on the floor. They go everwhere inside the hours, but for true geekdom, the WaveLAN is for the garden on our lovely sunny days we're having here in sunny Sydney.
Our lounge room with two of the laptops and essential entertainment equipment. Notice no steenking cat 5 for us!
