The way hatelife does it is pretty classy - try visiting the site in your modern browser, and then NS4.7...

The WinchipActually, the Winchip was an all-purpose X86 chip that gives decent performance for its cost. And it runs incredibly cool - you don't even really need a fan (I use one just to be extra-safe)
...Winchips have found a home in the I-Opener, as some others have mentioned, but also in the hearts of those of us who'd otherwise buy Cyrix (another decent brand if you're willing to trade performance for money...)
It's a Winchip that's currently powering fojar, hatelife, and yellow5.

Re:Similar situation at work... and hintsMailing lists or a SLASH-like page
Speaking of this, I'm preparing a slightly more generalized version of the forum at http://www.hatelife.org for consumption - I'm using it in a couple of non-angst-related projects and it works out really well (even though I'm calling it "the hate engine"
;) .) It's simple enough to be super-straightforward for general consumption, and it's pretty decently organized.Sorry, just had to plug it.

Hating life...
Gubmint spies protecting corporate interests abroad, while they still can't protect their citizens from corporate interests... Kinda makes you hate life, eh?

Re:Minus One... FlameFor one site where this doesn't seem to be the case, check out hatelife.org. A lot of the journals are an entertaining read- most people's lives are so comically tragic, you can't help but chuckle at their woes.
I check it pretty regularly now, just for people like chickenfinger and frippy. It's funny. (better than a lame-ass user-made comic strip, anyway.. you should see what people send THE AUTHORS if you want to see real crap.)

I want to see JonKatz review this movie.I know, he'll write something long and treacherous and run-on-ish and people will flame him, but hot damn I'm feelin' blue. You could even say I hate life.
But really, I just like the idea of JonKatz writing a big article thrashing a kid's movie because he's silly and it'd be funny and I'd laugh and be cheered up.
:)
