Re:iReverse
Apple doesn't actually own trademarks on i[Everything], and they don't have a right to i[Everything]. Whatever they use first is theirs, but nothing more than that.
Hell, there's a VOIP software company called iCall. That's a name I'm sure they'd love to have snatched up.

Re:Iphones can only run one app?
iCall has been available on the iPhone for about a half-year now. (apparently in beta)
It integrates seamlessly with the iPhone. Those skype guys are behind.

Re:Beagle Board in a box?
It's as versatile as a PC, but with gaming controls slapped on and in a mobile form factor.
In short, it should double as an emu handheld, PDA, portable media player, etc.; many people are creating homebrew games for it too, but don't expect anything commercial quality early on.
It has a touchscreen and large battery, which makes it appealing to me when in the field. If flash works on it, I could even use it for VOIP wherever there's Wifi.

Re:What about inbound?
Am I missing something? Without the ability to keep the application open in the background (not supported by Apple), how can you receive calls?
You either keep the app open (duh), or you use iCall - iPhone App Enables GSM To WiFi/VoIP Switching

Re:I bought it
I made a skype-out call from the G1 over my wifi network today. Try that with an iPhone. Granted, it's a phone, so sure, what's the point. But it's good to know that even if I terminate my cell plan, the phone isn't a useless brick.
Yeah, I thought using VoIP on my iPhone was pretty cool back when I tried it last year.
Of course now there are several official apps that can do this, like fring (which supports SkypeOut, Gizmo, and other SIP providers, and (soon) iCall, which can switch to VoIP. If you're still on 1.1.x (like I am), you can use siphon with pretty much any SIP provider.
It's good to know that if I had a plan and then terminated it, the phone wouldn't be a useless brick.

Who cares about Skype?
Who cares about Skype when we have iCall http://www.icall.com/ where one can make free (and I mean free) phone calls throughout the US and Canada, without dolling out dollars to Ebay? Skype executives should wake up and smell the coffee.
