The iPad Pro can have a dock now - USB-C
how exactly are you supposed to do be a professional graphic artist on an iPad if it doesn't have a proper dock?
The iPad Pro has USB-C now so why not use any one of a number of USB-C docking solutions?
It can connect to an external monitor and lots of other devices now.
Yes its touch but capacitive touch screens aren't as precise as graphics tablets
The Apple Pencil is a lot more accurate than other graphics tablets (and has a higher refresh rate). I use to have a Wacom Cintiq which absolutely sucked compared to my older iPad Pro, never mind the new one.
What about audio? How am I supposed to run all of my various inputs into an iPad?
At this point I'm pretty sure you missed it having USB-C...
However even the older version of FL Studio Mobile supported up to 24 audio inputs, and it's at version 3 since then. Do you really have more than 24 devices to connect?

Re:A Taste of Your Own Medicine
Not sure if it was actually _suing_, but you could've found it by grepping for "Kellogs" in Image-Line's wiki page, which links here
Being nicer than you, I'll even give you a quote:
Kelloggs decided to challenge us when we applied for the FruityLoops trademark in the US. We had a very strong case AND we received the trademark in Europe as the two markets are obviously separated. But later they claimed to have released CDs and games in their cereal boxes, and as we didn't want to waste money fighting them in court for 5 years

Re:bring back CoolEdit instead please
Audacity.
Or Edison. I love Edison. It's available standalone as well, not just as a VST plugin.

Re:Myth TV plugin?
Hmm. I think I'd rather use something else I have that would do the job nicely. Shame VLC can't load VST (or can it?)

it's larger problem within the FOSS community...
Branding is key to getting people to use the stuff you created (and that you -want- people to use, lest you keep your code on you own machines). Ease of use keeps people interested in what you're offering by making the barrier to entry low. Many, many otherwise good FOSS projects die because of these two things.
Take LMMS (http://lmms.sourceforge.net) for instance. I've been trying to use it for a while now, and I'm pretty much ready to submit a laundry list of changes to the project, starting with a name and/or logo change (I've already whipped up a sample logo if the name must remain LMMS). The majority of changes are for usability, making things that should be obvious to the user stand out more.
I've tried to get guys on various message boards to look at LMMS as another tool to consider for making music on a tight budget even though its really not as complete as the tool it mimics the most (FL Studio - http://www.image-line.com/documents/flstudio.html). Those that do try all complain about the same thing: Usability... And they hate the logo.

Re:Wavosaur mashed Audacity in my setup
I could have sworn I could load VSTs into Audacity. Maybe I'm just thinking of DXI. Can't say, as I haven't used Audacity in a long time. The WAV editor in my DAW of choice is the nicest I've ever had, and the in-DAW integration is quite handy.
Unfortunately it's neither Free nor free, but I do consider it worth the cost.

Re:Well, what about LMMS?
There's lots of software that is pretty much exactly like GarageBand.
Cakewalk - Sonar
Propellerhead - Reason
Steinberg - Cubase
Magix - SamplitudeImage-Line - FL Studio
... can even do most, if not all of what GarageBand does.
