Re:I for one welcome our new cryptographic overlorYou say this in a day and age when people are building cruise missiles for under $5000, and building homemade scanning tunneling electron microscopes.
Nothing a good set of radio receivers and a few moderately powerful computers cannot fix.

Re:An open source cruise missile program?
Don't laugh.
5000 cruise missle project
It's freeking a scary thing. Those V-1 bombs didin't cost that much.

DIY Pulse Jet (and Missile)Maybe Bruce Simpson in New Zealand has the lead on them? He's been building pulse jets for years and even has DIY plans for one. He's considering covering the design with th GPL. Imagine that, a GPLd jet engine!
Yes, he is the guy of DIY cruise missile fame.

What ? But those model planes suck !C'mon, you would'nt even be able to put a 10 lb payload on them. And they wouldn't be moving much faster than 70 mph.
This project is much more interesting. $5000, that's the price of a third-hand car. How many of these puppies can an Al-Qaeda-like organisation build ?

The project reminds me..
The project reminds me of this project. (Building a home made cruise missile)
But Imagine the possibilities what terrorists could do if they get hold of the plans to this "model plane". -
They need to hook up with this guy
A DIY Cruise MIssile
"Watch me build one for under $5000." -
So? This guy is building his own ...
... cruise missile.
With wonderful plans like this around, I guess terrorists-in-training won't no need to use the flightsim to work out how to crash into the Statue of Liberty any more ... -
Conflict not across Atlantic...
but above it. At least according to this article. Scary how a number of these things are starting to come together at the same time... it sounds like it is in the rest of the world's interest to support anything that isn't American. Which is a real pity that the DOD just can't play nice with the rest of us. Cheap, GPS guided cruise missile anyone?.
