Erbo writes "The LA Times reports today on a demo of the Xerox Star held last week, billed as the "last live demonstration of the Xerox Star." Full story here. The Star is best known as the system that inspired the design of the Apple Lisa and Macintosh, MS Windows, and probably a lot of X-related stuff as well...a system ahead of its time. "

Confidential documents obtained by the LA Times show that Microsoft is about to launch a "massive media campaign" to influence state investigators. When a Microsoft spokesman was asked to comment, he initially said he didn't know what it was, even though his name was in the documents several times. He then said it isn't something Microsoft will be "moving" on. Thanks again to David Lesher for this bit.
