Re:actually it shows why Cray always does so well.
Their homepage seems to be http://www.unlimitedscale.com/.
Unfortunately, it contains absolutely no info on what hey are up to.
groups.google has a tiny bit more.
And a bit on their funding.
Anybody got any more info? -
GREAT!
Thank god we have AOL/TW to compete against Microsoft -- they're such a wonderful alternative to an obvious monopoly.
And don't kid yourselves, both Microsoft and AOL/TW are monopolies, despite whatever you might have heard about regulations being wrong, and another form of 'communism', etc. Whatever the rhetoric, the fact is that our founders understood the need for regulations as a protective measure for consumers, and democracy as a whole. You can read about how their concerns were ignored in the Telecommunications Act of 1996, when restrictions on mass ownership of news/media outlets were all but erased; here, here, here, and here. -
class action
UGO obviously anticipate a class action and are trying to limit the number of class members with the waiver. You could wait and see if anyone else initiates a class action suit, and then become a class member for little or no legal expense. Here is the general idea of how this works. Here is a bunch of BS
,about how rich UGO will be by 2001 ;) -
NorthPointe not the only one
I was a customer of Reflex Communications until Friday a.m., when I abruptly lost my service. (See story about their bankrupcty. I'm a bit irked that they filed on Wednesday but I got no advance notification -- or if I did I couldn't read it because I couldn't get to my email. It would be nice if I could get it back on for a couple of weeks while I make a transition.

Don't gas up your flamethrowers...
...until you've read this article from boston.com:
"E-Ink Corp. of Cambridge laid off 37 workers last week after shifting the emphasis of its operations from large signs to handheld electronic devices."
"E-Ink sent about three-quarters of the 50 workers who worked on its original product out the door as it moves into the next phase of its development, according to a company spokesman"
-
!Smooth TransitionOf course with today's headlines reading:
E-Ink wipes out 37 jobs as it changes speeds
Clearly the transition to e-paper won't be a smooth one. -
Re:Read the article....Yeah, did you check out the iCopyright.Com site?
They seem to be a company that will let you obtain a reuse license. Check Here for an article that has this thing active, and at the bottom there is a link to the icopyright.com site.
This smells fishy......
