Reagan vs National Airport
That's National Airport, I have no idea why people insist on calling it after some Alzheimer victim.
Perhaps because the airport's full, official name is "Ronald Reagan Washington National Airport"? Has been since February 6, 1998 when President Clinton signed a law changing its name?
So, what is it; are you just trolling, ignorant, or feeling betrayed that a Democrat President would honor a Republican?

Re:Get rid of the 100 VP "frat house" that is mgt.
Ron Reagan busted the unions, but, I certainly do not see Republicans busting down on USURIOUS payrates given these stooges in "upper mgt.".
Yeah, Presidential Orders sure are fun, aren't they. Just like shrill communists trying to incite the class war on /. Heh. Personally, my favorite part is getting an airport named after him, just to top it all off nice and neat.So long, Mr. Marx. It's been most entertaining.

See one up close for yourself...
Boy, what I would give to be able to sit in that seat and flip those switches!
I doubt that they'll let you sit in it, but you can see the American space shuttle Enterprise for yourself at the McDonnell Space Hangar facility of the Smithsonian Institute's National Air and Space Museum. It's out near Dulles International Airport in northern Virginia.
Enterprise was parked out at Dulles for a while, and it too seemed to be abandoned, but in retrospect it seems likely that it was just waiting during the construction of its new home. -
Re:Simply wrong
Once they named an airport after Reagan, I gave up on any sense of propriety in governmental naming. An airport, for pity's sake!

Jetways are so 20th century...
A number of people have made the comment that current airport jetways are not well designed for servicing this type of aircraft. So why not ditch jetways (heck, it's only money...) and replace them with something like Dulles' "mobile lounges" (history of Dulles). Just board on oddly-shaped bus in the terminal building and be ferried out to your plane sitting on the tarmac. Naturally you'd need a small fleet of them, but it might allow for a more flexible airport design in the long term. In the short term, an airline could simply run the shuttle out of a normal jetway (assuming there's space on the tarmac to park the beast...)

Re:Chantilly ..
Hick town eh?
Oh yeah, way out there in Fairfax County.
Funny, we have the NRO, one of the largest airports in the US, an 802.11b wireless network, SGI, a linux users group, and an Intel datacenter, not to mention also having a boatload of linux careers. Oh yeah, and don't forget that MAE-East often gets cut by cows chewing on the fiber out here in hickville. Oh, I forgot some little things like ThinkGeek, NSI, and ARIN.
Oh yeah, and that hick high school is getting me my CCNA.
I'm not even going to mention AOL, Erols, or the CIA.
But you get the picture.
