Re:I'm ready...
China and India also happen to lead the world in CO2 emissions, so they will continue being a scapegoat for as long as they continue to make the problem worse. Right now, at this time, there is only one country in the world that gets to claim they're not part of the problem, wherever you are, suck it up and admit that you too need to get your head out of your ass and out of the sand and admit you're part of the problem.

Re:Apple has outdone itself
Actually he was working on the same team that developed the realtime API, which is the patent in question, while employed at Apple.
"Android and Mr. Rubin's relevant background does not start, as HTC would like the Commission to believe, with his work at General Magic or Danger in the mid-1990s. In reality, as the evidence revealed at the hearing, Mr. Rubin began his career at Apple in the early 1990s and worked as a low-level engineer specifically reporting to the inventors of the '263 [realtime API] patent at the exact time their invention was being conceived and developed. [...] It is thus no wonder that the infringing Android platform used the claimed subsystem approach of the '263 patent that allows for flexibility of design and enables the platform to be "highly customizable and expandable" as HTC touts. [...] While Mr. Rubin's inspiration for the Android framework may not be directly relevant to the pending petitions for review, that HTC felt compelled to distort this history is illustrative of the liberties it takes in attacking the ALJ's [initial determination] and the substantial evidence supporting the ALJ's findings."
A fact that HTC happened to leave out of it's evidence when they claimed that Andy Rubin started his career at General Magic. I think anyone, including you, can see the significance of such. Perhaps that is why you left all of the relevant facts out of your statement?

This isn't really about MySQLThis is all about the EU blocking Oracle's acquisition of Sun. They are trolling for testimonials about how the Sun acquisition would force people to buy Oracle DB, which is almost certainly would not:

Look at Berkeley DB (on which OpenLDAP uttely depends.) It's now "Oracle Berkeley DB". I don't see any monkey business with that arrangement (although the OpenLDAP people are probably working on ditching BDB just as due diligence.)

Re:no-win
Meanwhile in India Reliance keeps cutting SMS rates. It is currently at INR 0.90. For the mathematically retarded, 0.90 Rupees~0.02 USD (Which is the same as 0.02cents if you are Verizon.)
And they also have unlimited SMS plans for around 2 USD. Want unlimited Internet on phone? That'll be another 3 USD. And it is perfectly normal to have a plan which does not have all these service and cost 5 USD/month. (4 of those 5 dollars are for talktime and 1 dollar service charge, tax etc) -
In another news India decides to ban US companies
In another news to retailiate against the outsourcing backlash from US India has decided to ban US companies from selling cellphone equipment/chips/software in their market, which is expected to reach 100 million in next two years (another url says The user base is growing at about two million a month and is expected to cross 100 million by 2005.)(US market is about 110 million for comparison) and 500 million by the end of the decade. . Similar huge numbers are expected for PC and car markets. Also, they have decided to ban the cars companies like GM, ford and other US companies like Mcdonalds, Pepsi, coke and Hoolywod movies etc. from selling in India. The govt. of India said that the local people are losing jobs because of this trade.
P.S. in case you are clueless this story is made up. I just wanted to make a point that trade is benefitial to both US and India. So, it is stupid to put barriers against outsourcing/trade etc.
