Re:Hope they have Bash, OpenSSL
I personally hope that sun will bundle apt-get and synaptic for Solaris. I love that feature so much on Linux that I hope sun sees the light and let us have it too.
You can download it for solaris here, but I really want sun to bundle it. -

Six more screenshots!
Six Screenshots of KDE's Eye "K"andy for your eyeballs to delish

Yum!I cant wait to try them out. My system is FUBAR at the moment, and I am typing this from Knoppix running KDE 3.1.3 at 800x600 (ouch) right now. Once I got my system working again I'll try them out.
Anyway, I have tried the Alphas betas and RCs and all I can say is its a window smashing, gnome squealing, apple peeling desktop!
Here are some of the reasons to try it!
- Its FAST! My old Athlon 2000 feels like a top of the range Dell Optiplex!
- Eye candy! Transparent panels, Keramik II, Crystal SVG, Shadows, Translucentcy and bouncing icons! Its delicous, And you will agree with me aplenty!
- More features, yet at the same time re arranging configuaration dialogs to give the perception that it is cleaner, yet still has more features than before. Lots better than the Gnome feature policy
- The best window manager on the planet! It is filled with new features, and updated to the Freedesktop.org Window Handling Specifications. Metacity surrenders!
- Finally, it hs been stripped of annoying K-names in favour of more logical names.
I would write more, but other comments will take care of it. But the only way to see it for yourself is to try it. So apt-get it today!
And now for some screenshots!
