There are some people who have converted church organ pedeals into a digital interface:

Re:What about Linux?
How well do gaming consoles work as file servers though? Our PC also serves as an offline mirror for my steam account so we can play games like super meat boy, sonic 1,2,3, braid, lego star wars, left for dead, etc using controllers, in addition to some other niche things like a custom steam chat bot run in a vm (because you can't have two instances of steam running at the same time otherwise).
In addition, we get 1080p youtube and my roommate doesn't have to unpack their laptop when they get home from work to check facebook. Keeping Hulu + Netflix + Facebook all on one machine without having to switch video/audio sources is a nice luxury and minimizes the tech support I have to provide the roommate.
We actually have a hand-me-down xbox 360 that's on permanent loan from someone, but I'll be damned if I'm going to pay $60 a year to be able to use netflix on it though. -
Re:And we need this why?
Marvell can't even release proper (signed) 64 bit drivers for their wifi cards. Don't expect this proposition to go anywhere, ever.
-
Re:Statistics, statistics
What's the driver situation like on XP-64 these days? Do you get security updates at about the same time as your 32 bit brethren? I remember in ~2004 when my buddy got XP he had to downgrade to 32 bit due to driver avalibility issues but I'm sure a lot has changed in six years.
I recently upgraded from XP-32 to Win7-64 and was amazed that everything I own had recent and fully functional 64 bit drivers... except my netgear brand wifi card, which is 64 bit supported, unless you have more than 3.5GB of ram. The workaround of which involves unsigned Spanish language drivers... -
Re:Market Research using Google...
(Bonus: 1,590,000 for i hate sprint)
Because people don't gripe about sprint, they just drop them and move onto a carrier that supports modern phones. I love t-mobile by the way. Everytime I call (0 wait, either!) the tmobile rep usually says "we can add/adjust this feature for free!". When I called about how to use google voice as a voicemail transcription service, the guy not only gave me the code to key in, but also offered to set it up on my end, put me on hold and then call my cell and test the transcription service to confirm it worked. Compared to sprint, where I usually got in screaming matches with the CS reps there over some new $4 charge per month they needed to charge me to make/recieve international calls or some other BS. Fuck sprint. I'll never go back. I love tmobile.

Re:I have a picture of this from Dallas
Ooops, I have a second, better pic of said undulatus asperatus. This one was taken at Skillman and Mockingbird, Dallas, TX - about 3 miles north of downtown:

I have a picture of this from Dallas
This occured on May 25th 2009 in Dallas, just north of downtown. I'm sure if you search flickr for that geotag/timestamp, other pictures of it will show up in outdoor pics in the background of the images. Here's my 2megapixel cell phone camera picture of it:
http://nearlydeaf.com/wp-content/uploads/2009/10/IMG00395.jpg
And here's my shameless personal blog plug about my entry about it just now:
http://nearlydeaf.com/?p=377
I'll admit my picture isn't as good as the one posted in Wired (it hasn't been photoshopped to hell with image contrast and color saturation), but I was on my lunch break trying to meet up with a friend for lunch at the mall that day. -

Re:Alternative viewpoint:
What? None of the users of my personal blog, http://www.nearlydeaf.com/ would ever shamelessly plug their website on slashdot!
