If "the free market" was allowed to decide, no areas outside major cities would have telephones or internet services. Unless they were willing to pay the thousands of dollars to run all the phone/cable lines to their house.

Imagine if you will a cartoon world where anthropomorphic chickens live in a village out in the middle of nowhere, not unlike the setting of Animal Crossing video games. Say a bunch of them want modern conveniences such as Internet access. They could pool their money and form a chicken co-op to spread those thousands of dollars for the last mile across multiple families of chickens.

Carrying a second charged battery

If you tried that on the DS Lite, you'd get prompted to reset your name, the clock, etc.

And in those cases, a simple 12v solar charger would be all you need for passive recharging - on a sunny day you could possibly run AC off it.

Or I could just stick to Wild World and run AC without being tethered to a charger. It's not like City Folk for Wii is any big improvement, and I'm sure the changes in AC for 3DS will cause civil war among the fandom just like AC1 vs. Wild World did.

Players who reset in any Animal Crossing game are in for a sort of harassment that's far worse than the "You forgot to shut down; now wait for a ScanDisk" in Windows 98.
