Re:What Bank?
Bank DnB NORD has headquarters in Copenhagen, Denmark.
It is quite interesting to see their web page. Here they are forced by the Danish Financial Supervisory Authority to publish a serious reprimand in both Danish and English. Turns out they did not disclose information they were required by law to disclose in their annual report for 2009.
DnB NORD is owned by DnB NOR with headquarters in Norway. And it looks like DnB NOR also have problems with the local financial authorities. And last year DnB NOR accepted a fine and forfeiture of profits illegally obtained from insider trading.

Non-Threatened Whale SpeciesWe do not hunt threatened species of whale, the Minke whale Norway hunts is plentiful and currently has the conservation status of "Least Concern"
.
There are over a hundred thousand Minke whales just in the seas surrounding Norway, and we hunt less than a thousand a year. We conduct proper government controlled supervision of the hunt, and the product is used domestically.
It is a centuries old tradition and our sovereign national right to sustainably harvest our sea resources.
.
Ironically most people think hunting whales is illegal under the IWC moratorium, however Norway lodged formal objections, since the moratorium was not based on advice from the Scientific Committee, and we are thus legally exempt from the ban
.
Polar Bears are in fact a species Norway, the US and Canada are cooperating to defend and protect in our Arctic regions. Read more about the intitative here.

Re:it's a geographic location!
Actually, it IS a geographic location in Norway

It is 1.5 hours drive from where I live, and a really beautiful place.
More info here.
Furthermore, I just searched for "End of the world" on google... -
Re:2 Problemsa pseudosocialist utopia in which all of us are gainfully employed and paid a hundred thousand dollars to work 30 hour weeks developing beautiful open source software that we give away and nobody buys, and all music and entertainment is produced through the honest labor of talented people upon whom we benevolently bestow voluntary payments for their work, and whose labors of love are distributed for free through the software channels that we were paid lots of money to develop. Oh, and Bush isn't president. And global warming stopped. And we all ride bikes to our jobs.
Wow, I think you just described Norway.

Re:Time to get out of here
Try Norway (can't help it, love my country!).
Very small, very expensive but quite safe. Some terrorism hype here to, but nothing like the US. It shouldn't be to hard to move here either, since you're an American citizen (though I don't really know anything about what it would take).

Re:I have a question
No joke, this company is for for real. And yes, I do not think they chose that good of a name either. But this is the result of the fusion of several insurance companies, including some with names like "Storebrand" and "Norges Brannkasse" names which reveal the focus on fire insurance (Brann == fire) in a country where most houses are made of wood.

Geographical location a concern for Trolltech?
At least for the few of us located up here in Norway (info on Norway), and possibly as an indication for the rest of you, it would have been quite interesting to hear Harri's comments on Trolltech being based in the cold corner up by the North Pole.
Due to the overall slowing down of the computer related business worldwide, there has lately been quite a few people in the Norwegian computing sector asking themselves, and each other, whether being based in Norway is the most profitable choice. Although from the first half of 2001, this article (sorry, norwegian only) states that some 40% of Norwegian tech companies are based abroad.
Personally, I do not believe Norway to be the worst of choices, for any number of reasons, not the least of which is probably that I am Norwegian...
But it would have been nice to know have someone in Trolltech felt about this!
