    AmbushBug asks: "The new Tablet PCs have been out for a while now and I was wondering if anyone has had any luck running GNU/Linux on them? I've found that its running on the Pacebooks and there seems to be some success with the Compaq TC1000. Has anyone tried running it on the Motion Computing, Toshiba, Gateway, or others?"

Reviewed at Anandtech, the new PaceBlade, touted as a 3in1 PC, features a Transmeta Crusoe TM5600 CPU at 600Mhz, up to 256MB of RAM, a 12.1" XGA LCD that can do 1024x768, and an "any key". Always nice to see some new designs and technology throwing curves at the norms."

    Every few months I see a new laptop that really impresses me, and Hanno submitted one that does that with room to spare. PaceBlade has a transmeta chip, PCMCIA, irda, USB and all the usual stuff... except that it features a removable ir keyboard, and can be used as a traditional laptop, or as a workpad sorta thing with a pen. Expected release around the middle of the year with a $2k price tag... I'm super skeptical of that price.
