Re:Good, hair shirts won't save us
Oh, elbow room, elbow room,
Got to, got to get us some elbow room.
It's the west or bust,
In God we trust. -
no, the term to be familiar with is "material"
As Lolly, Jr. and Lolly, Sr. could have told you http://www.schoolhouserock.tv/Lolly.html, "materially" is an adverb which is (restrictively) modifying the adjective "adverse".
So their change to the contract takes away one of your rights
... while that's certainly an adverse change to the contract, what is the material item affected? They're not providing you with less service or charging you more money.I do believe it's contrary to the interests of society to permit a contract that requires you to accept without re-negotiation any and all adverse changes as long as they have no material impact, but that's what your contract said when you signed it...

Re:Funny, but lame
Personally I think the solution is to travel back in time, and re-engineer the human race so that we grow 12 fingers
Interestingly, Schoolhouse Rock covered a similar possibility on children's TV back in the 70's. Hell of a concept to lay on kids. -
Re:The home of informed discussion
Isn't unlearning fun?
Oh god.... I'm suddenly having flashes of Schoolhouse Rock style unlearning TV spots.

Please learn how U.S. government works
In other news, Slashdot article submitters have no clue how the U.S. Congress works:
The FBI has gained new powers to demand documents from companies without a judge's approval, as well as the ability to designate subpoenas as secret and punish disclosure of their existence with up to one year in prison.
No, the FBI hasn't gained jack crap, yet . Senate committees may play a large role in the development of bills, but a bill has to get past the entirety of both the House and the Senate, and then get signed by the President, before it becomes a law.
Watch some Schoolhouse Rock or something, people. Or maybe pay attention in middle school.

Does ABC still air Schoolhouse Rock reruns?
If so, we don't need to worry at all!
Well, assuming they can find qbasic.exe somewhere.
