Microsoft To Delay IE "Smart Tags" Release
Erbo writes: "CNET reports that Microsoft has decided to drop Smart Tags from Internet Explorer 6.0, the version that will be packaged with Windows XP. They may be resurrected later, though, so don't yank those META tags out of your pages yet. Smart Tags are still part of Office XP, too." -
Microsoft Porting Applications To Linux (Really!)
Erbo writes "We've heard the rumors before, more times than we can count, but this time WinInfo claims they're true: Microsoft is working with Mainsoft in Israel and a small French development team to port their apps to Linux, and possibly other Unices. ZDNet has the details. (Spotted in Linux Today) " -

Erbo writes "The LA Times reports today on a demo of the Xerox Star held last week, billed as the "last live demonstration of the Xerox Star." Full story here. The Star is best known as the system that inspired the design of the Apple Lisa and Macintosh, MS Windows, and probably a lot of X-related stuff as well...a system ahead of its time. "
