Craig Sanders sent us a link to an article about (surprise!) Linux called The People's Revolution, which is a front page story from the IT pages in The Age, Melbourne's biggest newspaper. Mike_Miller wrote in to say that Rob Kennedy (of linux-howto.com fame) is starting a monthly magazine called Ext2 about (surprise) Linux. Josh Baugher wrote in to say 32 Bits Online is now changing their focus to be a (surprise) Linux oriented site. And lastly, mholve has written a nice bit on Advocacy for (surprise!) Linux. -

Don Antonio sent us a link to a site where you can *cough* club a seal. I love this world. Lee Maguire writes "According to a recent usenet post from their Director od Communications, Mainframe are to announce a deal with The Cartoon Network to show all episodes of the CGI cartoon ReBoot (quite popular with computer/sci-fi geeks like me..) - this includes the eagerly awaited third season. " Mark Ashton wrote in to tell us about a Student-run conference in Champaign, Illinois. Speakers include Bjarne Stroustrup and Theo de Raat. Mike Miller wrote in to mention that The Linux Mall now has a floatable 'Linux Headline News Stories' window which updates every 5 minutes. Is it worth adding something like that here or not? Lastly, everybody and their mother wrote in to tell me that Linux 2.1.118 is now available in the usual places. -
Vote for Internet Heros in Forbes
Mike Miller wrote in to tell us about Forbes Magazine running a poll to decide on your Internet Hero. For those who have paid attention, I have stopped posting polls because the Slashdot Effect was wrecking them for people, but this poll is a textual one. They ask you to write instead of just checking a box, so I figure we all can post good answers and not just skew things HtAD style. Questions include what 'net company will die first and who is your 'net hero. -
