From the VOIPSA, 'This VoIP Security Threat Taxonomy is meant to define the many potential security threats to VoIP deployments, services, and end users. Part of the challenge of devising effective VoIP security protections requires first identifying these threats in the first place.'" -

mithridate writes "The Voice over IP Security Alliance has been formed to "fill the void of VoIP security related resources through a unique collaboration of VoIP and Information Security vendors, providers, and thought leaders." From the article: "They aim to counteract a range of potential security risks in the practice of sending voice as data packets, as well as educate users as they buy and use VOIP equipment. An e-mail mailing list and working groups will enable discussion and collaboration on VOIP testing tools."
