OSX threaten Linux? Oh that is a good one!Sorry, let me wipe the tear from my eye as I was laughing so hard. Since when does OSX threaten Linux? It will only threaten Linux when OSX is ported to as many platforms as Linux, when all (100%) of OSX is open sourced, when OSX adopts a GPL instead of a pseduo-open license, and when the Devil has to ice skate to work.
Sarcastic mode on! *WARNING* Slippery when sarcastic!
Is this just more FUD from the MacJihad? Trying to prove that OSX is superior to Linux? Like those guys at The Linux Sucks Club? They just can't come up with any realistic reasons why Linux sucks and OSX is better.
I mean really what makes OSX better than Linux? That Apple makes it, that it runs on Macs, that it has an Aqua interface? The ability to run old Mac programs in "Classic" mode? Screen Otters? Gee-Gaws that only 1% of the users really need? What?

Consider thisApple got rid of the floppy by not making it standard on an iMac. Apple also got rid of ADB and serial ports. Apple is also getting rid of the old MacOS with OSX which is BSD Unix based and will run the old code.
Windows ME runs old DOS code, I ran the RC1 and was able to run DOS programs like PKZIP. I just couldn't use the SYS command or the FORMAT
/S options. MS disabled them. I'd be willing to bet that third party programs might be able to get around this?If Apple gets rid of something, it is innovation, but if Microsoft gets rid of something it is BS? WTF? Has the MacJihad gone bonkers?

Apple InnovationsApple also buys up technologies. I believe there was a stock swap with Xerox to get the Xerox GUI and build on it, was there not?
Also Apple bought out NeXT for the OS and GUI because MacOS was becoming a dead-end and getting old real fast. But ironically it is all called Innovation if Apple does it, and stealing if Microsoft does it?
:)OSX is based on BSD Unix and OpenStep with some modifications from MacOS and Rhapsody code. I predict that eventually Linux will bury MacOSX in about five to ten years.
You want a date when Apple will be DOA? How about January 2016? Apple will either finally die or get bought out by another company. I figure by then they will have run out of BS marketing ideas and phoney Bytemarks and will run out of ideas for new case designs and wacko slogans like "Think Different". See the SF Journal for more info on the future of Apple and the Apple Doomsday Clock.
I just hope that the MacJihad doesn't flame me for telling the truth about Apple?

Linux SuxAlso some goobers, possibly MacJihadists, started a Yahoo Club Linux S*cks and they totally started flamewars on it.
Ironic that MacOS and MacOS X so very little bugs in security. OSX being based on BSD Unix, yet BSD Unix has more security exploits? WTF? Or is it that nobody even bothers to check OSX for security exploits?

The MacJihad have been after me for some time now.On the IWETHEY forums, the MacJihad have been after me for some unknown reason. Maybe it is because I keep posting articles that talk negatively about Apple and all the bad stuff they are doing. Like mucking with its VAR chain, OEM chain, rumor chain, etc. That bad karma is going to come back to haunt Apple sooner or later. But how do you get the MacJihad off your back?
Anyway: The Apple Doomsday Clock has also been a target of the MacJihad trying to shut it down.

The MacJihad strikes again!Remember when they used Bytemarks to show how a G3 was faster than a Pentium II? The PII had run a DOS based C compiler with 386 optimazations and the G3 ran a state of the art PowerPC C++ compiler with G3 optimizations for that ByteMark.
Photoshop results vary, based on the video card used. If the Althon or PIII system has a crappy video card that is slow, of course a G4 will appear to be faster with an ATI Rage 128 video card.
But hey, falsified benchmarks or unfair benchmarks are nothing new to the MacJihad.

Re:Haha!Apple is working on a dual G4 Mac. OSX server should support multiple processors. Apple has not yet released a multiple processor Mac yet, IIRC.
Sad thing about the OSX system is that it only runs on Macs. No CHRP/POP, RS/6000, or other platforms. Linux and BSD are really cross-platform, and that is one thing that OSX won't ever match up to unless Apple decides to start porting and drops the whole Mac Hardware spiel.
Should Apple port OSX to other platforms, I'm talking the whole OS not Darwin, I'm talking Aqua, the whole 9 yards! Or will the MacJihad get angry that their Mac Hardware could get downsized?

They don't need suits, they need monitorsWhat good would a suit do? Just get someone to monitor it, and drop the connection when the "Script Kiddies" start playing the DoS games. Get the ISP to drop the account of whomever is doing this after the monitoring programs catch the IP address of the attacking system. Nail the suckers who did the attack.
Do you suppose it was some sort of SuitJihad against the people running the site not having suits on there?

Woz got the shaft?Did Woz get the shaft from Apple, or did he just quit after seeing the company he founded get turned into a High Tech Religion where the Mac Developers fought with the Apple
// Developers? Maybe he didn't want to get caught up in the Mac Jihad that was taking over at Apple?Jihadspeak for more info.

What about Abandonware? If a company does not make an update for a program in 5 years, and no longer supports it for 5 years, should it become public domain? Should people be able to access it for free?
Let's say Commodore tanked in 1994, it has been over 5 years since it tanked. Will the C64 ROM BIOS be open to the public to use in emulators, or make C64 type computers from it? Or should it stay copyrighted and nobody is able to do anything with it because some finacial company bought it from the corpse of Commodore and then sat on it?
Or will the Jihaders keep passing around the ROM and other stuff that has been abandoned by the companies that made it?

Re:Avioding faked emails.I have had many faked emails sent to me or my friends from various groups or people. Some threatening, some just harassing, others kind of stupid reasons for sending. Anyway I can take the headers of the e-mail from Outlook in the "Options" part and then forward it to the ISP of the IP address it was sent from.
You have a point that you can edit the message before sending it. But shouldn't the ISP also have a copy of the message on their server if it was sent from there? Assuming they used the ISP's SMTP server and not some Anonymous SMTP server?

What Apple did wrong.Apple created the Evangelists, then afterwords the Mac Jihadists came out as a result.
Anyway Apple grew because the Jihadists made newsletters, web pages, spammed newsgroups and mailing lists saying how great Apple is. Then people believed them. No matter how bad or poorly Apple treats its customers, the Jihadists are there to whip them into shape. Getting no money from Apple, they are like singing Apple's praises. They also knock down anyone silly enough to promote a technology other than Apple's.
Apple also promised CHRP/POP support in MacOS 8.0 and Rhapsody. I see now that Rhapsody's replacement OSX does not have CHRP/POP support and MacOS 8.X and higher has limited support (no mouse or keyboard support, no video, etc.) so Apple never kept its promises. Until Apple bought out NeXT, they would never have made a true VM and PMT and all the other things that Copland promised. Only by going to Unix was Apple able to give the customers what they wanted.
Web sites such as The Apple Doomsday Clock talked about all the mistakes Apple made and why they just don't get it.
Face it, the iMac was nothing but what the Microsoft/Intel NetPC promised which was based on the Sun/Oracle/Netscape Network Computer. All Apple did was make it popular with translucent plastic and a case shape that resembles a woman's breast from behind the iMac case.

Re:Why does anyone like Apple? But Amiga is even smaller and people don't root for them as much as they root for Apple. The difference must be Hype or the Mac Jihad?

Re:Why does anyone like Apple?BTW the Mac Cloners paid a hefty fee to clone the Mac. If Apple didn't charge enough of a fee, then that is their fault and not that of the Mac Cloners.
The truth of it is that the cloners came up with lower prices than Apple for low end systems. Apple got jealous and wanted that 0.25% Mac Marketshare back so they killed off the cloning!
Microsoft had USB support in 1996 with Windows 95 OSR2, long before the iMac came out. Please be more accurate in your Jihadist rants, ok?

Re:Because of the Jihadists
Sorry the link should be http://normad.webhostme.com/jihad.asp Somehow the space and the quote got cut out of my typing. Either my fingers fumbled or a buffer got cut. Any editor want to fix that?
-
Because of the JihadistsThe Mac Jihadists are those who have a daily struggle to promote Apple and the Macintosh at no cost to Apple. They post on newsgroups, forums, Internet Clubs, mailing lists, and then hang out at consumer electronic stores and try to talk people into buying Macs instead of the cheaper PC systems.
There is a Jihadist simulator at http://normad.webhostme.com/jihad.asp which tries to simulate an argument a Jihadists might have. While their posts are not usually random gibberish with computer terms thrown in, they are not that far off the path. They almost speak in tounges when excited.
But anyway they get consumers, small businesses, colleges, churches/temples, etc using Macs instead of PC Systems. They are usually overzealous and not every Mac User can be a Jihadist, it is an elite club. Maybe about 2 million out of 53 million Mac Users are Jihadists.
