    Next year they are going to bring in more draconian laws.

    From then, not just trademarks will be prey to them.

    There is a solution to this mess. Have a .REG TLD - restricted to trademarks. Explaination on my protest site.

    ICANN know that only name.class.REG.country will solve the problems of trademark conflict and cybersquatting.

    Reserved only for trademark holders, it also serves as a certificate of authentication. Full explaination at www.WIPO.org.uk - It has no connection with, and wishes to be totally disassociated from, the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO.ORG).

    Disclaimer for litigation mad Attorneys - some are very happy with the current situation. It is a Intellectual Property legal fee goldmine.

    Sounds much too sensible to me ;-) Yes, ICANN are a bunch of *. I think you are fighting a more difficult battle than mine.

    ICANN are guided by experts. Not of the Internet - but of trademark law. Which is why they have screwed it up so much. To make as much money out of business as possible. This is not the only reason, of course.

    All news items regarding cybersquatting and companies fighting over names seem to highlight how stupid the current domain name situation is. The mismanagement of the DNS is obvious, you would think it run by idiots.

    I wish to make people aware that ICANN already know the solution to this problem. Dot REG reserved for trademark domains. In format of Name.Class.Reg.Country - ALL businesses would be able to use their name. No cybersquatting, no sex sites and no infringement.
