First Physics From RHIC

QuarkHead writes: "Early Wednesday morning, Wit Buzsa from the PHOBOS collaboration presented the first physics to come from the Relativistic Heavy Ion Collider at Brookhaven National Laboratory. Apparently the universe as we know it will not be destroyed, and unfortunately Long Island will not be sucked into a black hole. See the talk here and the consequent paper here."

    I like science as much as the next nerd... but I'm not reading that paper.. just looking at the abstract made me wonder when the home work was due :) Pretty crazy I've got first post on a science story 6 hours after it went live... oh well... happy thursday everyone :)

    I hear if you find a deer tick, you can put it in an envelope and mail it to them and they'll tell you if it has Lyme's disease. But, does the tick have to be alive when you mail it?

    I haven't been able to confirm this stuff at their site.
