Windows Emulator For Macintosh?
kossico asks: "For any Mac users that have needed to run Windows(tm) applications, Virtual PC has probably helped them a lot. Does anyone know of any free/opensource projects that attempt this on Mac a la Wine? If not, who wants to start one?"

I regularly use the Basilisk II Macintosh emulator to capture a bit of nostalgic system 7 flavor. It's truly a great project, with ports to BeOS, Windows, just about any flavor of Unix (including linux) and AmigaOS of all things. There is a networking transport, sounds work, you can mount the drives of the parent OS, just about everyting you could want or need in an emulator.

On a Mac, you need more than just a Windows emulator (which Wine Is Not). Since the Mac OS runs on m68k/PPC, an i386 processor emulator is also needed to get the binaries to actually run.
Of course, I imagine you could use Wine as-is on the Intel port of Darwin.
