Thoughts on the CyberBoy PDA and Penbex OS?

An Anonymous Coward asks: "I was flipping through the new issue of Maxim and in the tech section they had a listing for the CyberBoy PDA. It is an MP3 player, camera, voice recorder, and PDA. After reading the website it looks like it uses Penbex OS. Has anyone had experience with these? and if so how are they?"

However, aside from the built-in camera, it seems like a fairly run-of-the-mill PDA. Not even a relatively good one, at that. The new CE devices are coming really soon that will have all the features present there minus the digital camera. Palm (if it doesn't go out of business soon) should have something nice coming soon incorporating recently acquired BeOS technology.

I don't see any reason why you'd want this particular device. It looks a little bulky as well.

Or does the Penbex OS look suspiciously like a localized version of the Palm OS? There's no mention of Palm anywhere on the Penbex site, but the closeup shots are unmistakeable.

Only 8Mb or RAM, seems a little stingy, although I'm sure you'd fill the sd slot quickly.

It's a bit odd isn't it that it sez it's color but all the photos and screen shots are mono?
