ICANN Director Seeks Court Order to Review Records

willybur writes: "The EFF reports: 'The Electronic Frontier Foundation (EFF) today filed a motion with the Los Angeles Superior Court on behalf of ICANN Director Karl Auerbach requesting the court grant him immediate access to corporate records that ICANN management has denied him for one-and-a-half years.' Read their press release and the support memorandum."

    The Director can't access the organization's records? Bizaare.

    Probably a good indication of why ICANN is euphemistically called ICANT.

      That's old news. I thought you were suppose to know obvious things like that. :)

      Just as a recap for those who don't know, california non-profit directors are suppose to have access to this type of information (previous /. story).

      And yes, this goes back quite a few months.

      The case was filed a few months ago, but the motion (for summary judgment) which the story references is new. I am fairly certain of this because:

      1. The press release is dated today;

      2. The memorandum in support of the motion is dated today; and

      3. I'm Karl's lawyers. ;-)

    It's daylight savings time. Shouldn't he be Karl Adenauer until October, and only then Karl Auerbach?

    This is the correct spelling of the adjective bizarre (meaning weird, as opposed to the noun bazaar, which is a type of market).

    Your use of the adverb euphemistically is also wrong. Webster.com defines euphemism as "the substitution of an agreeable or inoffensive expression for one that may offend or suggest something unpleasant; also: the expression to be substituted" (my emphasis).
