Missed Your Flight? linux.conf.au 2003 CD Out

lpontiac writes "The official conference proceedings CD from linux.conf.au 2003 is out! It features talks (in Ogg Speex format) and papers from the likes of Alan Cox (Linux), Andrew Tridgell (Samba), Rasmus Lerdorf (PHP) and more. There's a list of mirrors on http://conf.linux.org.au/, both to ISO images of the whole shebang, and copies of the CD contents so you can download individual talks."

Bittorrent file for the ISO coming out of australia, but I'm in the US and I'll leave mine open for the next several hours. You do that too, ok?

Thanks. I'm about to go to work so mine will be open for quite a few hours as well.

Its nice to see that they are using open-source when they are talking about it! Ogg is nice from an all mp3 era...

I downloaded two diffrent speeches in the speex format. And tried to listen to it, but it sounds like Mickey Mouse is giving the speech. I've even tried to force ultra-wide-band but it still is faster than it' supposed to be. I can't find any way to slow it down. So be warned.

It works with the speexdec.exe and Winamp plugin on windows, speexdec works better. This is the same file that doesn't work with linux. I tried to use RC3, 1.0 and beta 4, which is the one that was used to encode it. Maybe it just a problem with me. P.S. I know it's lame to reply my own post.

I've been searching for more technical speeches like these for a while and I never could find any.

Does anyone know of a resource where I can download speeches (not necessarily technical, but mainly having to do with Free/OSS software) in speex (or, hey, I'll even take mp3)?
