Armed And Dangerous - New Planet Moon-Developed Game

According to Gamespot, Lucasarts have announced Armed And Dangerous, an action game "with a twist of humor" for PC and Xbox. This is particularly notable because it's the new title from Planet Moon Studios, who were responsible for the excellent MDK while at Shiny, and went on to produce the interesting and cultish Giants: Citizen Kabuto for Interplay. Looks like this new title will turn up the quirkiness meter up significantly, too.

    Did anyone else read that and think of the humble Acorn and games made by 'Armed and Dangerous'?

    I think the most interesting thing about this story is that it shows a fundamentally different approach to gaming within Lucasarts. Pre-3D, they built up non-Star Wars/Indy characters (Sam & Max, Grim Fandango, Maniac Mansion, Secret Weapons, etc) but did so completely internally.

    Shortly after the advent of 3d and the PSX, they focused solely on Star Wars (Dark Forces, Rebel Assault, etc). Still internal though.

    Now, they seem to be outsourcing their intellectual properties as well as attempting to create new ones (RTX, this one), but doing so with external devs. Interesting, to say the least. Hsa LucasArts changed, or the market? Have dev studios essentially filled the same role as directors in film, able to switch from publishing company to company?

      RTX and Gladius are both internally developed.

    Sirtech/Telstar released a game in 1997 by a company called Makh Shevet called "Armed & Delirious" (although, IIRC, it was named Delirium in the EU)... this sounds remarkably similar.

    PC? What do you mean by that? Does it run under Linux? MS-DOS? Be? Come on guys, be more specific! That kind of sloppiness is forgiveable in the mainstream media, but not here, surely.
