WarBSD 0.1 Released

Dan writes "Stacy Olivas has put together a hack of PicoBSD .500 using the FreeBSD 5.0-RELEASE-p7 source tree. After seeing WarLinux and how it used an embedded version of Linux to get the job done, he started wondering if PicoBSD could be used for the same thing. He calls it WarBSD. Its main intended use is for systems administrators that want to audit and evaluate thier wireless network installations."

its nice to see that someone has brought out a version that uses bsd because that means theres more choice to the user as to what he wants.

the more the bsd the better imo.

yes, thank goodness I will be able to choose between a freely-available unix-like OS, or a freely-available unix-like OS.

      From the page:
"A: No. WarBSD is my attempt at making a *BSD equivalent to WarLinux "

Note, not "better" or "different", just "equivalent".

Yawn. Thank goodness I can have the comfort of the BSD license instead of the evil GPL when using an embedded OS.

You'd be surprised to hear how many people areconsidering BSD now. Even I was shocked to see
several people, including IBM's Almaden Research
Lab, and a bunch of japanese companies, downloading
      my special flavour (MirBSD).
And many people in IRC get install help from me.
I feel I'll have a userbase larger than I can
      cope with soon :)
