Samba 3.0 Beta Released
Znonymous Coward writes "Samba 3.0 Beta was released yesterday. The most notable new feature appears to be active directory integration. The announcment and release notes are here and you can download the binary or source. Don't forget to submit issues to Bug Zilla."
Because Tridge is pretty conservative on releases. Beta really means BETA 'though. Not semi-functional Alpha. AD- support! Goodbye Windows at my house...

In keeping with slashdot tradition, I now present you this crappy article's first FP. You know an article is total crap when not even the trolls bother to show up.
I see there's a whole slew of net commands to mimic Windows (nice to have when your GUI is stupid, or you have to browse thousands on Windows machines). I wonder if it includes a command to crash an NT, with the right packet sequence.
It should have stayed alpha with a bug like this still in there...
This seems to be a pretty important milestone.
Unfortunately, since the story was posted over the weekend, a lot of /. readers won't see it.
Please, go ahead and post a duplicate story - blame it on me. I just want to read what knowledgeable people have to write.
