Sega's Legacy Online MMO Rated
Thanks to an anonymous reader for pointing to a Stratics.com review discussing Sega's PC MMO strategy title, Legacy Online. This recently launched title is an intriguing online city-based business sim, with futuristic urban visuals reminiscent of the recent Sim City games, and the reviewer recommends the title, formerly known as Star Peace, as good "..for any hard-core competitor who thinks it's cool to engage in cut-throat business dealings, and who is tired of the rudimentary hack-and-slash that most massively multiplayer titles base their businesses on."
Has anyone here played the beta version of this game? I've heard a lot unofficial opinions about it, which are quite different than the official ones, and I'd like to hear someone who could honestly say if this game will be really what it is claimed to be. Thanks.
Karma: Positive (probably because of superiour intellect)
But where the hell is the Dreamast version?
Seems like all these games are based on the same pap. But _ALL_ games these days have to have some sort of MMO counterpart. If I wanted to be with other people, I wouldnt be on a computer.
What exactly makes this game "Soo Radically Different" than every other game? Seems like a reskin and replot of other similar MMO games.

Great. I hope they include features like having to wait in line at the county clerks office for 4 hours, and having to spend three days trying to get your future fax machine to send a copy of a voided check to a busy fax number.
Because I really want the opportunity to do all the things I do all day at home, at night, but with better visuals. Oh, and instead of getting paid for it, I want to pay for the privilege.
i don't like my old sig.
Sign me up! Man, I can play this game for 100 hours then have somebody delete my character with no way to restore it... then have the serves shut down because the IP address is hard-coded into the client and has to be changed - I can hardly wait!
Earlier this year, we ran an article about the game and some of the pitfalls and hurdles Legacy Online's developer, Ottawa's Oceanus Communications, faced to put the game out. It's an interesting little team composed of an Italian theoretical astrophysicist, a former Nortel employee, and a team of Cuban developers.
Sweet!
I don't' really have a problem with the SimCity 2000-style graphics, especially as Oceanus' requirements apparently don't include a 3D card. Might run on Virtual PC on my Mac (minimum is a PII-500 or so). Nice.
Sega is dying, just like BSD. That is why no one is posting on this thread.
