Racing A Coffee Cup Vs. A Musical Keyboard?

Thanks to the Grandtextauto site for their post showcasing an exhibition using unique game controllers at the Japanese National Museum of Emerging Science and Innovation. The photos on the page show racing game controllers as wacky as a "..direct-manipulation coffee cup - the text on it reads 'Drink me. Drive me'", and "a synthesizer keyboard that moves forward when you play notes toward the center and turns when you play notes at the edges", as well as a horse you control with physical reins, and a more conventional steering wheel controller, all networked together and racing through a 3D model of the museum.

Actually I can't even get to the site right now. I thought there was lower viewing on games.slashdot.org. Why is it they look to be /.'ed and there's only one offtopic post so far? So how does the coffee controller work? Drink to go? Would I get a GUI for adding Kahlua to my coffee? :)

Trying hard to get through to the site, as new/wacky interfaces are a great fetish. And the Japanese are doubly good with coming up with new and strange ways to communicate with your computer.

What are some of the best / goofiest interfaces that you have for your pc/game systems?

So far, I've collected (and love):

The Taiko Drum Controller ( for PS2s "Taiko No Tatsujin" )

The Fishing Reel Controller ( for Dreamcast's Sega Bass Fishing / marine Fishing )

The Ultrasonic Maraccas Controller ( for Dreamcast's "Samba De Amigo" )

and of course, dance pads, guns...

What else is out there that you can get your hands on?

It's silly to think that the only/best way to talk to your machine is the qwerty/mouse.

The keyboard doesn't take up valuable space in my closet like all that junk.

Though it's only an arcade game, there IS that Japanese game where you have to slap a large plastic ass as hard as you can...
