Irish Free Software Organisation Founded
balor writes "January 5th 2004, Irish Free Software
Organisation (IFSO) is launched. Since June 2003, members of the fsfe-ie
mailing list have been collaborating on issues such as software
patents, and the European Copyright
Directive. With Ireland holding the presidency of the EU for the
next six months, political lobbying in Ireland will be of increased
importance. The fate of the software patentability directive is still
undecided, and we now also have the Intellectual Property Rights
Enforcement Directive to deal with. In the coming months, we also
hope to work on spreading education and adoption of Free Software in
Ireland. By no coincidence, today is also the 20th
anniversary of the beginning of the GNU project."
Irish software has always been a constant problem for me. It works like its drunk if it bothers to at all. Irish Free Software.. YAY!
"Free as in Whiskey!"
Which sounds pleasant etc (if you like whiskey; I think that your average vinyl-factory explosion would make a better mouth sensation), but since whiskey tends not to be free, or even cheap, it doesn't make a whole lot of sense. Still, raspberries and lawnmowers.

I like my software with lots of Irish in it thank you very much.
This is America, damnit. Speak Spanish!
ok, who else will admit that they first read 'irish free' as 'not containing any irish', similar to 'fat free' labels, 8^)
