Game Cartoonist Tackles Crowbar Envy, Licensing Backlash

An anonymous reader writes "Over at Buzzcut.com they're hosting a number of cartoons and running a news story about UK English professor Barry Atkins, who also happens to be a videogame-related cartoonist. Highlights of the wry single-panel strips include FPS weapon commentary, licensing worries, and shooter strategy issues."

    Really Really funny pictures (if you're a geek).

    Now to make this post a bit more relevant, I give you my pathetic try on a fun quote for a screenshot.

    the art's pretty good, and he manages to get his point across without swearing every other word (probably has something to do with the fact that he's an english prof). Some of his humor lacks the necessary punch, though... he's got a way to go before he dethrones the current champions in the comic-strip videogame commentary arena.

      What are you smoking? They're hilarious!

      This guy just reams into the idiosyncrasies of computer gaming. He really really "gets it".

      Yeah, the humor is dry and witty - the author is British. American humor tends to be cruder and much less subtle. So, really your critique of the "not funny" is more of a personal preference (probably because you're American - I'm guessing).

      No idea what happened to the image gallery, I added a mirror to a Yahoo site the cartoons are also kept on, hopefully that'll stay around.

      Nope, the mirrors just don't load, at least in FireFox 0.8.

      Don't load as in, open in new tab and nothing happens, click in main window and nothing happens.

      Heck, in IE the mirrors produce a "The page cannot be displayed"

      OK, the mirror was removed, since it was obviously unwell, but the original site is working again (the URLs changed slightly to the individual pics.) Fun, fun, fun, I say.
