Political Games for the Campaign Trail

On the heels of the first debate, many thanks to the anonymous reader who alerted us to these political games. CNet has an article up about a Vietnam game where you can ride with Kerry on the swift boat. Another more well known game covers the actual presidential race this year. Called "The Political Machine", it allows you to manage political campaigns on the road to office. For silliness, you can't beat Bush vs. Kerry Boxing.

    I've toyed with making a game based on Bush's service in the National Guard. I'm thinking it's going to be a drinking game.

    I won when I played the Kerry swift boat game. I had a hard time telling people I won because these guys, Video Game Players for Truth, who weren't there when I was playing the game came along and told everyone I never played the game.

      I wanted to play the Bush National Air Guard game. I ordered the game a year ago but it still hasn't shown up.

    That game sucks, not only for its propaganda-style "informing" but also as a game by itself. If that's the best political games have to offer I'm glad I never played the rest.

      You forgot the Laura Bush roadkill game. It's actually pretty easy, because all you have to do is run down people, and you're not even drunk.

      For licensing reasons the game had to be called Carmageddon.

    Try President Forever (you can also get Primeminister Forever). It's a cheaper than the political machine, and is more focused on the strategy involved.

    The purpose of which is to frag yourself 3 times so you can get out of vietnam.

      I'm waiting for George Bush's Vietnam Country Club Simulator myself. I hear it has a really good cocaine and drink-driving system. And when you really get into big trouble, you can hit f1 to have your daddy's buddies bail you out of the current situations.

      Unfortunately, the documentation is fairly unreadable, since GWB wrote it himself.

    I played that Kerry Swift boat game. Didn't do so well. Kept getting shot in the back from troops on the other boats.

    As a table tennis lover my favourite election game is this one. It took me a while to master the game but now I can secure a Bush defeat on a regular basis. :p

    My favourite election drinking game is to take a swig every time President Bush uses the word "freedom" or "free" in a speech. Guaranteed intoxication in three minutes or less. :D

    we get purple hearts for self inflicted wounds, and silver stars for shooting injured VietCong running away. On top of that we get a bronze star for picking someone out of the water and high tailing out leaving the rest of the boats behind.

    The best and funniest political game has to be BUSHGAME starring a huge cast of famous characters and tremendous amounts of content.
