Free Online Embedded Linux Training

ngyahloon writes "Just got this from Handhelds.org: A free online course on Embedded Linux. The best thing of all is that it's released under the GNU Free Documentation License. The course is provided by Free Electrons , an organization devoted to promoting Free Software and Open Standards in embedded systems and handheld devices. Free Electrons is located close to Sophia Antipolis (region of Nice and Cannes), France (nice place for a Holiday) and targets organizations and individuals throughout the world."

...their intro to Unix/Linux was 125 pages and relatively comprehensive.

Looking forward to reading their other guides, pretty nice of them to publish them online :)

I just read through all of them. They give a nice overview and pointers to further information but lack depth. Also, they are just presentation slides so I question how useful they would be to an individual learner. Still, they could be useful for someone who was knowledgeable and wanted to use them in a presentation to a LUG or something. And I agree that it was nice of them to publish these online.

It's indeed nice of them, lots of info, although not complete.
If you look at the Java in embedded Linux systems slides they only mention java's strengths in embedded device and 'forgot' its weaknesses.
