Rosetta's View of Earth
ssbljk writes "Rosetta has been mentioned a few times on Slashdot during last 365 days. Last time it was on August 4th when she took images of the Earth and Moon from a distance of 70 million kilometers. Now, she came back to fly by Earth again and recorded a series of black-and-white images of our home planet from distance of 1954km."
South American weather... Chile and Argentina look really nice.
After all, I am strangely colored.
Cloudy. You sure that isn't Venus? Or won't be in a few thousand years?
Moo.
It always surprises me how different things look in black and white photography. We are so used to seeing Earth in color that seeing it only in tonal variation is almost shocking. I suspect that some of what looks like cloud would come across very differently in color.
How stunningly beautiful these shots are.
I don't know about you, but it looks pretty burnt black to me... *grin/innocent look*
