Lik Sang on a PSP TV Adapter

PSP News writes "The people over at Lik Sang have done a great hands on review of the new no Modification PSP TV Device by Blaze. The main differences between this and the Team Xtender adapter is less than half the price and the Pal-Ntsc switch while quality is as good if not better at different display settings. From the article: 'Compared to the previous TV Adapter that we had in our hands a couple of months back, the display result you get varies from as good (16:9 ratio wide screens) to better (on 4:3 ratio) depending on the type of television set you use the devices with.'"

Unfortunately, the one good game* on the PSP that isn't a PS2 port (Lumines) probably would have been a PS2 game in the first place if the PSP hadn't existed, but Sony probably paid Q Entertainment to make it for the PSP and PSP only in a scheme to sell PSPs.

But I don't really care, the magic of Lumines died for me pretty quickly playing on a friend's PSP. The skins were really awesome though, I'd like to see that kind of thing spread to a real* puzzle game like Tetris Attack.

      * No, I'm not exaggerating when I say that, so please reply to my post with "Hey man, x game is totally great and not on the PS2 you dumbass" or "Hey, Lumines is real puzzle game! Just because you can solve it deterministically doesn't mean it's not fun, you jerk!" [/sarcasm]

...SCEA didn't have this anti-2D stance, where it seems that the only 2D games allowed on the PS2 are reissues of arcade games.

That said, so many reviewers have complained that Lumines could have been adequately done even on less-powerful handhelds. In fact, it has been ported to the GBA, and now it's open source.

but Sony probably paid Q Entertainment to make it for the PSP and PSP only in a scheme to sell PSPs.

It would match Sony's known m.o. Previously, Sony had offered Namco a deep discount on the manufacturing (which normally runs roughly $10 per disc) in exchange for making Soul Calibur III a PS2 exclusive.

The skins were really awesome though, I'd like to see that kind of thing spread to a real* puzzle game like Tetris Attack.

Meteos is a spiritual sequel to Tetris Attack, developed by the same people behind Lumines, and it has 32 different skins that the player can unlock.

The skins in Lumines aren't just skins either; they also specify the speed of the sweeper, which has much the same effect as the gravity of a Meteos planet.

is it all just fake ? or do they all have dev kits with direct video out ?
