    It didn't stop on my floor, I'm not very theoretical, I just am.

      Actually, it did stop at your floor, in fact it stops at all floors at once, but your observation of the elevator caused you to be shunted into a parallell universe wherein the elevator had already arrived and left, thus causing you not to see it.
